Judge Theresa Beck announces her intent to run for Jefferson County Circuit Court, Branch 2 on April 1, 2025.

Prior to taking the bench, Judge Beck practiced as an attorney in just about every area of law a local circuit court judge would handle. Beck developed a reputation for working hard, being thoroughly prepared and putting in long hours. She is committed to ensuring that individuals in her court are treated with fairness, respect and dignity. Finally, she is committed to fully understanding the law and facts of the cases before her so that the decisions she makes in these cases are just, fair and consistent with the law.

Judge Theresa Beck is a lifelong Jefferson County resident. She and her husband Patrick live in Jefferson. Beck attended the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Beck received her law degree from Marquette University Law School.

After law school she worked as an associate attorney at the law firm of Monogue and Witt focusing primarily on family law, probate, and serving as Guardian ad litem, representing the best interests of children in court. In 2010, Beck accepted a position as Assistant District Attorney in the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office where she worked until she was appointed to the Jefferson County Circuit Court. As an Assistant District Attorney Beck prosecuted everything from minor traffic offenses to homicides. She also was one of two prosecutors who handled juvenile cases.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Beck is a proud mom to daughter Claire. In her limited spare time, she enjoys gardening, tennis and spending time with her family.
